Answers to Your Questions
Most definitely! This is the reason why we invested a lot of sweat, blood and tears into professionally producing the videos and audios. To help people like you who may not be in Perth.
So that you can get the benefit of starting to speak Mandarin Chinese in 58 minutes, wherever you are in the world, whenever you want to.
ChinaSpeak has done a lot of research into how the human body learns. Notice that we didn't say the human brain. We use the whole body in learning.
It is totally different to the traditional textbook approach to learning.
You only learn how to speak and understand Chinese not read and write.
The programs are specifically focused on our in-built natural rhythms and learning patterns. It caters to how we are wired to learn naturally instead of us changing to learn from books un-naturally.
Books have their place but we believe it's not at the beginning, especially when learning to speak.
It's pretty hardwork swimming upstream against a raging river. Why not go with the flow and enjoy the journey?
Good question. I'm glad you asked.
1st of all, when you get your pack, you'll notice that there is very little written material. No books, no pens, no paper. We actually encourage you, when you're starting to speak to Not have anything.
2nd of all and more importantly, I'd like you to imagine yourself...
as a baby child...
How did you get your first exposure to language?
Was it through a thick book?
Was it through picking up a pencil and writing?
This is the fundamental flaw in the traditional textbook approach. We naturally first learn to listen and speak before reading and writing. It's a fact. You and I, all of us learn this way.
Oh and another very 'funny' yet important point:
When do you enjoy learning?
When you're having fun?
Or when it's boring and hard work?
It's only possible that you can start Speaking Chinese within 58 minutes only because it is natural and fun for you.
We promise and back it with a full guarantee that you'll be able to feel immediate results and be able to make your own sentences and questions within 58 minutes of the program. Be ready to surprise yourself. =)
You'll be speaking naturally with fun. And you'll be able to almost remember it for the rest of your life. A big claim and our students tell us that they can remember it over 2 years ago.
These programs are based on the assumption that if you can read it enough times. And listen to a native speaker rattle off sentences enough times - it'll sink in.
Fair enough, it'll sink in after repeated exposure again and again. The question is:
Is it fun?
For how long,
And how much can you express yourself in speaking and understanding Chinese?
ChinaSpeak caters to your natural learning pattern - the way we're all wired and programmed instinctively by Mother Nature. And our students tell us it's an unforgettable, fun and engaging experience.
In short, No.
No characters will be covered at all. That will come more naturally when you can start speaking Mandarin Chinese. Writing takes more determination and effort.

Unfortunately, this is a very common view. It most likely comes from learning to read and write Chinese characters and the tonal nature of Chinese. Learning to read and write does take more time.
Tones, however, are not a totally alien concept to English speakers. Too often, precise tone pronunciation is overemphasised. It is no small wonder people are often put off.
We all speak in sentences and within context, a Chinese will rarely has trouble understanding what you saying. Notwithstanding, we have a unique way of training you in tones naturally.
Learning to speak Chinese, however, is quite simple with the cFoo Method. Chinese sentence structure is fairly straightforward and in a lot of cases, is much easier compared to English. For example, Chinese does not have verb tenses (past, present, future); no gender specifics, no declensions, no different prefixes or suffixes according to singular or plural numbers.
In our courses, grammatical terms are hardly mentioned. Our organic learning foundation principle ensures you absorb the concepts naturally.
All ChinaSpeak courses teach Standard Mandarin Chinese, also known as Mandarin Chinese or just Chinese. This is the standardised national language learnt by all Chinese in China and Taiwan. Almost all native Chinese people can speak Standard Mandarin Chinese, which may be influenced by the local dialect and regional accent.
Note that in Hong Kong that on the street, Cantonese (a dialect) is mainly spoken. Having said that, since the 1997 handover, the educational curriculum now has Hong Kong children learning to speak Standard Mandarin Chinese as well as an increasing number of professionals taking Standard Chinese courses.
In Taiwan, the Republic of China, most Taiwan citizens speak both Standard Mandarin Chinese (some terms differ slightly from China) and Taiwanese, known as Minnan Yu, a dialect from the South of the Fujian province in China.
In Malaysia and Singapore, most local Chinese will be able to at least speak a combination of Standard Mandarin Chinese, Hokkien (a dialect similar to Taiwanese) or Cantonese.
We specialise in helping you achieve a level of proficient conversation. Conversation involves both speaking and understanding. All too often, we may be able to express ourselves but cannot understand what is coming back at us. ChinaSpeak ensures you understand as well.
The beauty about the cFoo Method is that you will be given the tools to learn independently. You will learn to learn. We strongly believe in empowering you so that you do not have to rely on us.
A One of the most remarkable features of the cFoo Method is the speed of the results you achieve. Our trainers guide you through a learning process at a rapid yet relaxed, enjoyable rate.
Your confidence and your ability to speak jumps up and up as you progress.
Unlike phonetic European languages, like English, French, Spanish, German, the Chinese written script employs a concept where symbols, called characters represent words. There is a phonetic system to romanise the characters called pinyin, literally “spell sound”.
Only on specified request will written characters be incorporated into the courses. From research and experience, you will learn to read and write much faster and enjoyably when you reach a certain level of speaking ability. You already have a speaking foundation so you can concentrate more on reading and writing.
Without a doubt, direct contact with native Mandarin Chinese speakers is usually the best way. We say ‘usually’ because it is best when you have a firm speaking foundation compared to being a complete beginner. You will not pick up ‘bad’ habits and will be able to learn much faster with the tools we give you throughout the courses.
From research and experience, we strongly recommend that you learn to speak Chinese (or any language) with family, friends or colleagues. You will learn much faster in a small group environment with people you are already comfortable with. You learn from each other through listening and speaking corrections. You will not feel all the attention on yourself alone. Outside class, you can practice more with one another.
We are flexible and cater to your schedule. Public interactive classes are for those who have invested, (either in a copy of the DVD/CD Packs or Online Video/Audio Packs). They are usually held during the week in the early evening after business hours.
For your flexibility and convenience, we can hold courses in your office or home. Please see private training. We also have facilities centrally located in Perth city for public courses.
ChinaSpeak courses specifically have small classes of a maximum of only eight students. This gives you valuable teacher-student time. On average, classes usually have between four and six students.
Personal attention, particularly for language learning, is very important to ensure you are on track. Your success in speaking Chinese with your peers is paramount to us.
For your benefit, we have a strict, maximum class size of 8 to ensure that you get the full value of your course. On some occasions, courses do not have to have full classes to start-off. In such cases, you can take the private catch-up lessons with us to get up to speed.
Yes, we do give private training courses, which cater to your specific needs and schedule. For your convenience, we can come to you to your office or home where you will feel most comfortable (within reasonable vicinity of Perth city).
For your benefit though, we strongly recommend that you learn to speak with at least another family member, friend or colleague. You will learn much faster in a small group environment with people you are already comfortable with. You learn from each other’s mistakes and will not feel all the attention on yourself alone. You can practice with each other out of class.
